愛做夢的我～Val

I finally moved my ass and went to extend my ARC
(that's Alien Residence Certificate),
with a name like that u know that "Foreigners" aren't that well-liked.
Alright, back to the main topic...
had to travel abt an hour to reach immigration office,
that handles all these affairs.
Besides the fact it's expiring soon,
the other is that I'm meeting Mabel tomorrow.
I had planned to go taipei tomorrow... a miscalculation on my part.
Anyway, it's always good to meet a fren coming down for a trip.

As usual, during traveling...
through the metro system here,
and then walking towards my destination,
I never fail to make discoveries that still had me wondering.

I chose a time that I hoped will let me encounter less people...
which I am wrong, sigh... there's always crowds waiting to board the train.
Anyway, did manage to ward off most of the public on my down to Banqiao.
I had to walk quite a distance to reach my destination,
and in the process cross a few pedestrian crossing.
Sitting here alive and breathing,
yes... I survived the crossing!
Actually, I almost gotten run over while crossing
as there was this white vehicle that decided not to wait while turning.
Good thing with previous experience of being runned over,
I didn't stop... which I almost WANTED, to ram my hand on the car!

Tell me, what's the point of having a traffic crossing,
where drivers don't even keep to its rules?!?!?
I wonder what's the point of it all.
Don't tell me it's because I'm a Singaporean,
and we're so used to following rules and all...
Well, obviously there ARE some rules that's there to keep u SAFE!

Kudos to me for being alive after staying here for almost 4 years....
I do love this place... I do...
but there are some things abt this city that still bugs me...

these few weeks have been a "want to clear up" time...
as I finally went to list down the number of blogs I have lying around...
I am surprised by the "have but not using" option
cos that means I have some unused space that is carrying my name
and am not using...
it's in bold because I find that I'm not the only one...
I recently found out that a classmate of mine,
have open and stagnant blog accounts literally "lying around"
I do hate loose ends... due to my controlling nature...
(which is in fact still in debate)...
I have this need to keep track...
most probably becos the itch to write is back...
and then there is the need to organize... blah blah blah...
ok, to cut the whole story short,
my other blog that has most of my posts...
has been cleared of its info...
to my utmost horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so.... here I am again...

it got me thinking... with the ease of the internet
people have bits of personal information floating around in cyberspace
and most often it is given willingly
everytime we sign into or on some web page or forum or email or whatever
we fill in details about ourself...
sometimes I lose count of all the places that I need signing in to...
besides the countless email accounts, online photo albums,
forums and bbs, blog accounts, social communities, blah blah blah...
goodness me...
I really don't want to start counting... get the idea?

Anyway... will be updating my links and blogs for the weeks to come
back to trusty blogger :)

今天是我國的41歲生日
代表新加坡自獨立以來
41個不斷努力與奮鬥的歲月

和其他國家比起來...
我們真的年輕得許多
但是... 這些日子
也是先輩流血流汗換來的

今年照慣例在新加坡過國慶
可能因為身在國外
回來的感觸特別多
雖然不能親身到現場
但在電視前面也感受得到
大家的熱情與喜悅

這幾的個月的緊密彩排
終於在今天精采、漂亮地落幕
辛苦了不少學生，老師，戰備軍人，退休人士...
應該還有不少幕後的工作人員
還有在現場待命的醫護人員與消防人員
不要忘了維持治安的警察叔叔們... 呵呵~

但對我們這些普通老百姓...
公定假日也是個休息的好日子
應該有不少人趁機出國玩吧~

NDP 2006 (National Day Parade)
也是國家體育場在維修前的最後一次
五年後才能重回到這熟悉的地方
這地標陪著許多新加坡人成長
留給大家的是許多美好的回憶
期待體育場新的面貌
再次的陪著我們一步步走下去...

回家的感覺總是奇妙的... 呵呵~
2號的晚上總算踏在新加坡的土地上啦
